Rosali Ann Amendt

Rosali Ann Amendt, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Runge) Ewoldt, was born July 22, 1927 in Cherokee County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Calumet, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Calumet High School in 1945. Rosali married Marvin Amendt on June 8, 1947 and to this union four children were born: Steven, Janine, David and Carole. After working as a homemaker for many years and raising her family, Rosali worked as a medication aide at the County Home in Spirit Lake, Iowa for 13 years. She also worked as a Library Aid at the Sutherland Library. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Rosali was also active in the community of Sutherland as a member of the Helping Hands, Cheerful Workers, Senior Citizen's and was a member of the museum board. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading. She was looking forward to her two great grandbabies who where to be born in the coming month. Rosali passed away at the Orange City Area Health Systems in Orange City, Iowa on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Iona Ewoldt, Lois Klimke and Lavina Richter and two brothers: Alvin and Delmar Ewoldt. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Steven Amendt and his wife, Elizabeth of Noble, OK, Janine Sprague of Danville, IL, David Amendt of Sutherland, IA and Carole List and her husband, Glenn of Hospers, IA; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Ewoldt of Primghar, IA; other relatives and friends.
