Rosalie W. Plautz, the daughter of Herman and Rosie (Smith) Huemoeller was born September 3, 1921, in Jackson, MN. Her childhood years were spent in Jackson where she attended school.
Following school she remained in Jackson where she met the love of her life, Carl Plautz. They were united in marriage on September 6, 1939, in Jackson, and blessed with three children: Sharon, Ben, and Alice.
Rosalie was a homemaker and farm wife most of her life. She moved to Spencer after her husbands death in 1976. She cleaned houses and helped the elderly. She had a green thumb and could grow any house plants, especially African violets. She shared her plants by growing shoots and giving them to family and friends. She loved being with her family and friends, doing crafts, reading Billy Graham's books, and crossword puzzles. Rosalie was a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer, and took great comfort in her faith.
On March 8, 2009, Rosalie passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer following a couragous battle with cancer. She was 87. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 1976; five brothers: Herbert, Eddie, Leslie, Leroy, and Clarence; four sisters: Helen, Clara, Minnie, and Bernice; one grandson, Jeffrey Carl Sassman; one great-grandson, William Benjimin (B.J.) Decker; and one grandson-in-law, Bill Decker.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Sharon (Sandi) Sassman of Spencer, IA, Ben and (Nancy) Plautz of Monee, IL, and Alice and (Doug) Rouse of Des Moines; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
