Rose Ann Monica Weiskircher, the daughter of Matt and Anna (Nosbusch) Tholkes, was born March 26, 1918 in St. Leo, MN. Her childhood years were spent in Mankato, where she received her education at Good Council Academy High School graduating in 1935. She moved Spencer, Iowa in 1938 and worked at Farmer's Trust and Savings Bank.
Rose Ann married I.C. 'Dutch' Weiskircher on October 7, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she worked at Spencer Hospital, Spencer Dairy and at the Lakes Art Center. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer as a member of the Catholic Daughters, missions and the Altar Society as well as doing a lot of volunteer work at the Spencer Hospital. Rose Ann was also a member of the Iowa Master's Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
She passed away at her daughter's home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the age of 99. Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dutch in 1979; brothers: Cyril, Cletus, Fabian, Gerald, Matthew and Lambert; her sister, Sister Ann Marie Tholkes; her 2 half-sisters: Regina Lanners and Odelia Schommers and her son-in-law, Gene Myer.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: John (Linda) Weiskircher of Spencer, Kathryn Myer of Ft. Dodge, IA and Stephen (Jackie) Weiskircher of Worthington, MN; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Delphine McMahon of St. Louis Park, MN; her brother, James Tholkes and his wife, Carol of Estherville, IA; other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name and they will be directed to Hospice of Fort Dodge and Spencer.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
