Rose Evelyn Ryker, the daughter of Hugh and Ethel Warren Galbraith, was born January 24, 1926 in Langdon, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education.
Rose married LeRoy Ryker on September 9, 1944 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer, where she worked for A & M Laundry for 59 years, until her retirement in 1989. The couple did live in California for a short time from 1969 to 1972. She was a past member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. He was also a member of the Eagle's Club and enjoyed bowling and dancing in her younger years.
Rose passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy on October 12, 1998; her brothers: Laurence, Bud, Charles, John and Frankie Galbraith and her sisters: Alice, Pearl, Lilly and Nora.
She is survived by two sons and their wives: Jerry and Ann Ryker of Everly, IA and James and Brigitte Ryker of Spencer, IA; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Staver of California and Laura Holleson of Everly, IA; a brother-in-law, Irvin Ryker of Tennessee; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa.
