Rosemary Koenen, the daughter of Clyde and Agnes McCabe Walton, was born October 16, 1923 in Linn Grove, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Linn Grove, where she received her education, graduating from Storm Lake High School. She later attended Buena Vista College. Following her schooling, she worked at a Photography Studio in Storm Lake.
Rosemary married Walter Glenn Koenen on May 1, 1947 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she raised her family and worked at Nieman's Sewing Center for a few years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
Mrs. Koenen passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter in 1996; two sons: Scott in 1974 and Steven in 2003 and one brother, Jack Walton.
She is survived by one son, Robert and his wife, Deborah of Lincoln, NE; one daughter, Ann Smith & Tim McVinua of Spencer, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. There will be no vigil service.
