Rosie Getting, the daughter of Joe and Nellie (Berger) Redenius, was born September 2, 1930 in Harrold, SD. She spent most of her young life with her Aunt and Uncle. Later she spent her time on a farm and the family moved to Humboldt, SD in the 40's, where she received her early education.
Rosie moved to Iowa in 1953 and lived on a farm until she became involved in over the road truck driving, which she did for many years. She also worked as a bartender for the Eagles Club in Spencer, until her retirement. Rosie was an active member of the Eagles Club for 23 years, where she went through all of the chairs and was president for 3 years, the only auxiliary member to do this. She also was an active member of the Tall Corn District, where she was President for 2 years, was active and president of the Western Zone, was a member of the Drill and Escort Team of the Eagles Auxiliary and received numerous 1st places at the state convention. She loved to play bingo, go to casinos, play cards, boat and ride motorcycles with her love.
Rosie passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Joe, Jr. and John one sister, Mary; the father of her children, Glenn Getting and her very special son-in-law, Robert Quist, Jr. of Spencer.
Leaving in her memory are her 3 children: Glenda Quist of Spencer; Charles and Vick Getting of Greeley, CO, Ray Getting of Ashton, IA; her grandchildren: Chad and Jenny Getting of Greeley, CO; Kelly Getting of Denver, CO, Shane and Iva Quist of Spencer, Jeremiah and Trish Quist of Spencer, Travis Getting of Granby, CO, Keri Foster of Round Lake, MN and Breann Getting of Sheldon, IA; her great grandchildren: James Lewis, Shane Quist, Jr., Logen Getting, Halle Getting, Jacob Foster, Tyson Getting and Madison Quist; 3 brothers: George & Marcene Redenius of Humboldt, Ralph & Sharon Redenius of Sioux Falls, SD, Roger Lee & Cauly Redenius of Orange Park, FL; a sister, Pearl Lewin of Sioux Falls, SD; a sister-in-law, Leota Redenius of Humboldt, IA; 3 half sisters: Josephine, Henrietta and Harmina and a special friend, Michael Williams of Spencer, IA; and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
