Ruby Darlene Hughes, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Moller Henaman, was born May 17, 1922 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on the family farm and she received her education in country school.
Ruby married George Vernon Hughes on January 24, 1942 in Reno, Nevada. Throughout their married life, they lived in Spencer, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Eagles Lodge. In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and her flower garden which she was very proud of.
She passed away on May 20, 2015 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Tory Mendoza; two grandsons: Kelly Blomgren and Chad Hughes and step-daughter, Rita Kling; siblings: Philip Henaman, Geraldine Vande mark, Earl Henaman, Roy Henaman, Doris O'Hearn, Howard Henaman, Vernon Henaman, Verla Henaman, Velma Grover and Norma Jean Schroeder.
Ruby is survived by 2 sons: Robert of Spencer, IA and Vern (Perri) of Langdon, IA; 2 daughters: Virginia (Bill) Aldinger of Livingston, TX and Diane Mendoza of Ione, WA; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Esther Baxter, and Darrell Henaman; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
In lieu of flowers Memorials to Spencer Hospice.
