Ruby Mildred Fitzloff

August 13, 1918 — August 29, 2009

Ruby Mildred Fitzloff, the daughter of Ebb and Eva Brown Brinkley, was born August 13, 1918 in Clay County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Clay County, where she received her education in country schools. Ruby married Donald Dale Fitzloff on October 2, 1937 in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they farmed for many years near Spencer. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, where she was active with the UMW. She also was active in the Sioux Energetic Club (township club) and the Moose Lodge. Ruby passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on April 3, 1999; six brothers: George, Wes, Verne, Dale, Donald and Roy; 4 sisters: Lela Swanson, Helen Hoffman, Loretta Iverson, Margaret Johansen and an infant son, Franklin Ebb Fitzloff. Left to cherish her memory are one son and his wife, Robert and Kathryn Fitzloff of Spencer; three daughters and their husbands: Bonnie and Duane Brown of Valley City, ND, Joan and Dwight Schumann of Spencer and Donna and Ron Arndt of Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother: Kenneth Brinkley of Spencer; two sisters: Virginia Behrens and Mary Schoning both of Milford, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
