Rudolph Wayne Beck, the son of A. Nat and Mattie Marie Hagedorn Beck, was born September 27, 1921, in Royal, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal. His childhood years were spent in the Royal area on the family farm. He graduated from the Rossie High School. Following his schooling, Rudolph farmed with his father. The day after the invasion of Pearl Harbor, Rudolph enlisted in the Navy until his honorable discharge on November 14, 1945.
On February 28, 1945, Rudolph married Lois Ann Reese at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Royal area. In 1968, they moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa where Rudolph worked as a Feed Salesman in Northwest Iowa. He was an active member of the Clay County Farm Bureau where he had served as President. Following his retirement, they moved to Arkansas for 14 years. In 2000, they moved to Spencer, Iowa. Rudolph enjoyed woodworking and made numerous pieces of oak furniture. He also, was an avid fisherman and looked forward to his fishing trips to Canada.
On October 3, 2006, Rudolph passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy in 1973; brother Robert Eugene Beck and sister, June Christenson.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann of Spencer; one daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Phil Hurst of Spencer; two grandchildren: John of Austin, TX and Sara Brandt and her husband, Erik of Spencer; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Kael Brandt; one brother, Paul Beck of Seward, NE; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Warner Funeral Home.
INTERMENT
Burial will take place prior to the Funeral Service on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
