Russel Lee Auberg

Russel 'Russ' Lee Auberg, the son of Henry and Eva Lou (Roghair) Auberg was born on February 22, 1951, in Sheldon, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Boyden, Iowa, area. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1969. Following graduation he worked at the packing plant and married Sonya Winter; they later divorced. Russ moved to Texas where he worked in the oil fields before marrying Donna Johnson; they later divorced. He continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked for Cookson & Co. He moved back to Spencer, Iowa, in 1995 and worked at Eaton's until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, playing on the computer, antiquing, genealogy, and collecting marbles, but his greatest joy was spending time with family. Russ passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at his home at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Eva Lou of Spencer, IA; 2 daughters: Sarah Farrell of Colorado, and Randi (Dan) Swanson of Royal, IA; 2 sisters: Ruth Albright of Spencer, IA, and Gloria (Sam) Hollmig of Texas; 2 brothers: Robert (Fran) Auberg of Spencer, IA, and Eric Auberg of Spencer, IA; 5 grandchildren, Christian, Cheyenne, Nicholas, Luca, and Leslie; other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Russ's name
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 19, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
