Russell 'Blaine' Click, the son of Andrew and Mila (Euler) Click, was born October 15, 1923 on the family farm North of Gaza, near Primghar, Iowa. He grew up on the farm near Gaza, where he received his education, graduating from Gaza High School.
Blaine married Donaline Luhrs on February 14, 1945 in Paullina, IA. They moved to the town of Gaza following their marriage, where they raised their three children and farmed for many years outside of Gaza. They later farmed near Peterson, until retiring from farming and moving to the town of Peterson. Blaine enjoyed his time as a school bus driver for Sioux Valley Schools. He began working for Wilson's Packing Company in the 70's, until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peterson. Blaine loved the rodeo and horse shows and took the grandkids to the Cherokee Rodeo for many years. He never missed the Clay County Fair, or the horse sales in Waverly. He was a 4-H leader, a Pee Wee baseball Coach, a Sunday School teacher, and a choir member. He always enjoyed dancing and had a part in a barbershop quartet. Blaine truly enjoyed people and visiting with everybody. He enjoyed many winters in Arizona with Donaline, until her death on January 31, 2004.
