Ruth A. Siple

Ruth Arlene Siple, the daughter of Arthur and Eleanore (Hansen) Elder was born October 9, 1920 in Parkersburg, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Terril, IA area, where she attended school. Ruth married Marshall Siple on January 8, 1950. They worked together at Hammer's in Spencer, IA. They then moved to LeMars, IA, where they worked at the Pantry Cafe, 6 days a week, starting at 3:30 A.M. Ruth enjoyed waitressing, listening to music, garden flowers, and meeting people. She enjoyed life, spending time with family and her dogs, Fawnie and Taffy. Ruth passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall; one sister, Vivian Jamison; and one brother, Gib Elder. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Lorrie Huffman, of Spencer, IA; many nieces and nephews including, Mike (Lynn) Huffman of Spencer, IA, Barb (Scott) Teal of Brandon, SD, James (Linda) Siple of LeMars, IA and Anna Lee (Bob) Plendl of Kingsley, IA; other relatives and friends.
