Ruth Arlene Boyd

Ruth Arlene Boyd, the daughter of Fred and Alta (Huffman) was born on March 11, 1924 in Ruthven, Iowa. She was raised on the family farm near Ruthven and graduated from Ruthven High School in 1941. She was a lifelong member of the Ruthven American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth took a part-time job in the 1950's as a waitress at Stub's House of Plenty that lasted more than 30 years. Ruth enjoyed babysitting, flowers and wintering in Arizona spending time with her sons. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, they were very important to her. Ruth passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2014, at the Spencer, Hospital at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Gary Boyd of Tempe, AZ and Roger Boyd of Phoenix, AZ; her brother, Robert Broadie of Ruthven, IA; Nieces and Nephews: Fred Broadie, Dee Grange, Debbie Kunzman and Joe Broadie and families; cousins: Dorothy Rute, Larry and Kay Rute and Vickie Rute; close friends: Ernie Hansen and family, Rick and Karen Adams and their son, Jordan.
