Ruth Jane (McCutcheon) Fieselmann, 91, formerly of Spencer died August 3, 2016, at Bickford Senior Living in Ames, Iowa.
Ruth was born on January 23, 1925, in Traer, Iowa, to Arthur and Louise McCutcheon. She grew up with younger brother, James McCutcheon. In her youth, she enjoyed playing golf and working in the men's clothing store with her father. She was an accomplished pianist who accompanied fellow students and, later, her children.
As an undergraduate at the University of Iowa, Ruth met her husband, Dr. George Fieselmann, while George was attending medical school. They were married March 5, 1944, and came to Spencer in 1948.
She was a devoted wife and partner for 67 years. Ruth was dedicated to her family and to her husband's medical practice. She and George enjoyed family time at Lake Okoboji. She accompanied her children, John and Jane, at musical and vocal contests. She also enjoyed birding, George's vacations, singing in numerous groups, bridge, gardening, canning, and hard work.
Ruth was a member of the First Congregational Church where she sang in the choir, and developed Christian Education for children and youth. She was very active in the Spencer Community. Ruth was a president and member of PEO Chapter KF, a member of PTA, Garden Club, Clef Club, Art Club, Questers, The Spencer Country Club, and Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She also was a leader for Cub Scouts and a Brownie Troop.
Mrs. Fieselmann is survived by her son, John (Randee) Fieselmann of Iowa City; daughter, Jane (Leo) Milleman of Ames; grandchildren, Emily (David) Griffin of Iowa City and great-grandsons, Owen and Landon; Mark (Joanne) Milleman of Pleasant Valley and great grandsons, Finnian and Oliver; and Kathryn (Marcus) Charter of Ankeny and great-grandson, Seton and great-granddaughter, Hollis; brother, Dr. James (Martha) McCutcheon of Cedar Falls and nieces, Jane, Barbara, and Carolyn.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Louise McCutcheon; her husband, George on February 1, 2011; grandson, Peter Fieselmann; and grandson and his wife, John and Katherine Milleman.
The family would like to thank Bickford Senior Living of Ames for their compassionate and extraordinary care of Ruth for the past three years.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the First Congregational Church in Spencer.
