Ruth Loretta Keiser

December 20, 1904 — September 28, 2007

Ruth Loretta Keiser, the daughter of Edmond and Elizabeth Michels Keiser, was born December 20, 1904, in Early, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1924. She continued her education at Buena Vista College and later Cedar Falls Teacher's College where she received her teaching certificate. After her schooling, Ruth returned to Spencer where she vividly remembered the Spencer Fire and the aftermath. She worked as a clerk at Younkers and Feldman's in Spencer throughout her life. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. She was also a 50-year member of the Agnes Felt Guild, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and sang in the Clay County Chorus. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Scrabble, pastel painting, raising flowers, gardening and enjoying her wild birds. She entered St. Luke Lutheran Home in 1999. Ruth passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer on Friday, September 28, 2007, at the age of 102. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Kaiser. She is survived by two cousins: Austin and Marilyn Keiser of Lake View, IA, and Martha Patterson of Algona, IA, and many special friends.

Funeral Services will be 1:30p.m., Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
