Ruth Rosella Kunzmann

Ruth Rosella Kunzmann, the daughter of Herman and Jeanetta (Curry) Gustoff, was born February 22, 1929 in Coon Rapids, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1948. Ruth married Nyle Kunzmann on July 23, 1950 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, Ruth worked as a nurse's aide for 8 years. She later continued her education, graduating from Iowa Lakes Community College with a LPN degree. Ruth worked as an LPN for 22 years at Spencer Hospital. Ruth also co-owned and operated a Maintenance and Lawn Care business with Nyle, which they operated until their retirement in 1999. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Ruth also enjoyed canning, cooking, sewing, reading and made many quilts. She passed away at her home in Spencer on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 86. Ruth was preceded in death by: her husband, Nyle; her parents; three brothers: Merle, Donny and Tike Gustoff; a sister, Virginia Ketcham; daughters-in-law, Diane Kunzmann and Mary Kunzmann. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert Kunzmann and his wife, Pam of Blaine, MN; Katherine Kunzmann of Spencer; Terry Kunzmann and his wife, Deb of Spencer; Cynthia Kunzmann of Spencer; Linda Kunzmann and her friend, Rick of Spencer; Kim Kunzmann and his fiance, Raye Dixon of Spirit Lake; four grandchildren: Carey Ertz, Andy Kunzmann, Mandy Kunzmann, and Jake Kunzmann; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marge Gustoff of Spencer and Phyllis Kunzman of Milford; other relatives and many friends.
