Sandra Kay Henaman, the daughter of Albert Dean "Sarge" and Helen Virginia Anderson Funk, was born January 18, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington. Her childhood years were spent in Tacoma, until age 6, where she lived in several places throughout the United States with her father serving in the military. She graduated from Spencer High School and attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls for two years. Following her schooling, she came back to Spencer and worked at Spencer Hospital.
Sandra married Jeffrey S. Henaman on November 3, 1970 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following their marriage they moved to Liberal, Kansas and Panama City, Florida. In 1971, they moved back to Spencer, where she went back to work for Spencer Hospital. Later, she went to work for Christians Sheet Metal for 15 years. During the final years of her life, she worked for Sunflower and Schaffer Trucking with her husband, until she was forced to retire due to her illness in October of 2005. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and was an avid reader of books. Sandra also enjoyed old movies, loved her little dog, Lucy and enjoyed being around people.
Sandra passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2005 at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her father and three aunts.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey of Rossie, IA; one daughter, Jennifer of Pasadena, TX; one son, Joshua of Los Angeles, CA; her mother, Ginny Funk of Iowa City, IA; two brothers: Albert Dean Funk, III and his wife, Judy of Urbandale, IA and David Funk of Columbus Junction, IA; two sisters, Deanne and her husband, Larry Strain of Columbus Junction, IA and Karen and her husband, Ray Dill of Morning Sun, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
OFFICIATING
Vicar Sara Quigley will officiate the service.
