Sandra Lou Barrett

Sandra Lou Barrett, the daughter of Raymond and Esther Armstrong Spiess, was born October 14, 1942 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised in Knoke, Iowa and received her education in Pomeroy, Iowa. Sandie married Patrick J. Barrett on August 5, 1961 in Fonda, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived in the communities of Fonda, Emmetsburg and Spencer. While living in Spencer, Sandie worked at various retail positions. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Sandie's greatest joy was raising and caring for her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flower garden and her cats. Sandie passed on May 12, 2012 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 69. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Pat of Spencer; her children: Timothy P. Barrett (Andrea) and their children: Jon and Ben, Todd Barrett and his child, Austin and Teresa Ukena (Larry) and their children: Jordan, Megan and Lauren; her sister, Delores Kacmarynski and her husband, Phil of West Bend, IA; her brother, Marlin Spiess of Knoke, IA; her beloved cat, Boots; her nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
