Shane Thomas Spencer

Shane Thomas Spencer, 60, of Everly, IA, passed away on April 14th, 2023, surrounded by his wife, two daughters, daughter-in-law and grandson.

A celebration of life will be held for Shane at Oneota Lodge in Spencer, IA, on Saturday May 27th at 4pm. All friends and family of Shane are welcome to attend.

Shane was born in Morris, MN and spent his time with his siblings and summers with his grandparents on their farm. Shane eventually moved to and graduated from high school in Rapid City, SD. Shane served in the US Army, spent time overseas during his service, and worked as an army mechanic. Shane went on to technical school, and worked for NCR fixing cash register systems, ATMS, and computers. Shane retired from Sioux City Stationary as a computer/ copier technician.

Shane enjoyed riding his Harley, listening to rock music, playing video games, sharing stories, joking with his family, and many other hobbies. Shane loved horror and sci-fi movies and reading books by Stephen King or Clive Barker.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Vicki Spencer, his daughters Ashley Reineke-Spencer and Allison Spencer, his daughter-in-law Brittany Reineke-Spencer, and his grandson Theodore Reineke-Spencer; his brothers Jay, Kermit, and Lee, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many cousins, and many more lifelong friends.

Shane is preceded in death by his mother Janice Tolifson, his sister Lisa Lewis, many beloved grandparents and many friends.

Shane is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
