IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, A MEMORIAL FUND HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED BY THE FAMILY.

     Sheila Rose Kassmeier, the daughter of Vernon and Mazy (Williams) Van Kleek, was born January 6, 1951 in Iowa City, IA.  Her childhood years were spent in the Spencer, Iowa area.  She received her GED from Iowa Lakes CC. 

     Sheila married Noel Kassmeier on June 28, 1975 in Sioux City, IA.  After their marriage, they made their home in Spencer, where she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary, was Action Club President, was a Awana Leader and was on the ADA Council. Noel passed away in January of 1992.  She worked for 16 years at Sunshine Center in Spencer.

     She passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 69.  Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Van Kleek; a half sister, Bonnie Merritt and a sister, Sarah Ann (Van Kleek) King.

     Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mazy Van Kleek of Spencer; 1 sister, Peggy (Mike) Marx of Rochester, MN; a half sister, Dixie (Dean) McPhie of St. George, Utah; a special friend for many years, Hilda Schomaker of Spencer; many other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Spencer.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
