Sheridan H. Blaue

Sheridan Hollman Blaue was born on February 13, 1930 to Harry and Kathie (Hollman) Blaue. He entered eternal life on October 11, 2012 at the age of 82 after a long illness. Sheridan was raised on a farm near Sutherland, IA and graduated from Royal High School in 1949. He worked for Iowa Public Light and Power Company and farmed with his father. He married Carolyn Toland in 1951. He served in the 841st Combat Engineers for a year in Korea before returning home and was a heavy equipment foreman for Sieh Farm Drainage. In 1955, he returned to farming in the Royal area and continued until health issues forced his retirement from physically working but not stopping his love of farming. Sheridan was a member of First English Lutheran Church. His love of the Lord was foremost in his life and he was extremely involved in Church activities. Sheridan was an Elder, member of the Spencer YMCA Benefit Holding Company, Chairman of the Congregation, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Counselor, Spencer Zone Lutheran Layman's League President and Vice President of Iowa District West Lutheran Layman's League. He was a member of the Peterson American Legion and on the Board of Directors of the Clay County Pork Producers. Due to health issues, Sheridan was a resident of Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE where his daughter, as Director of Nursing, was able to spoil him. Sheridan was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Arthur, sister-in-law Bonnie Blaue and brother Henry Blaue. Sheridan is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Mark Blaue and his wife, Jan of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Susan Brenden and her husband, Richard of Sloan, IA; he was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Dr. Barrett Blaue (Heidi) and sons Maxwell, Dean and Wyatt; Mitchell Blaue (Stephanie) and son Hudson; Jillian (John) Harshbarger; Luke Brenden and daughter Kiandra; and Cole Brenden; his brother, Robert Blaue of Milford, IA; sister, Carolee Craven of Sutherland, IA and sister-in-law, Dorothy Blaue of Sac City, IA.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
