Sherry Kae Nelson

Sherry Kae Nelson, the daughter of Bobbie Rae Menke Sr. and Betty Lou Kramer, was born April 2, 1966 in Spencer, Iowa. Sherry was raised in Webb, Iowa and went to South Clay School. She was the Homecoming Queen her senior year and graduated in 1984. Following graduation, Sherry worked at Shine Brothers, City of Spencer Park Department, managed Taco Johns, Break Point and assistant manager of Casey's in Sanborn.
For the past five years, Sherry lived on an acreage outside of George, Iowa which she loved very much. In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed fishing, riding her motorcycle, her nieces and nephews and most of all, spending time with her family by the lake.
Sherry passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center at the age of 50. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and an infant son.
She is survived by her loving companion of 15 years, Jennifer Collins; her siblings: Glennis (Kent) Halverson of Alta, IA, Mike (Brian Schmidt) Menke of Brant, SD, Rick (Denise) Menke of Churdan, IA, Bob (Jeff Smith) Menke of Elsworth, WI and Jerry (Donneta) Menke of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
