Sheryl Lynn Smock

     Sheryl Smock, the daughter of Lloyd and Lois (Johnson) Berg was born on February 7, 1947 in Ada, MN. Her childhood years were spent in the Spencer, IA area, where she graduated from Spencer High School in 1965.

     Sheryl was united in marriage and to this union, 2 children were born, Darcee and Devyn. Sheryl attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in English. She worked for ShopKo, National Box Company and Great Lakes Aviation for 17 years until her retirement. She resided in Arizona for 3 years, before returning to Spencer.

     Sheryl enjoyed playing Scrabble and other board games, reading, listening to Elvis, dancing, looking through picture albums, and especially spending time with family. 

     Sheryl passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Spencer Hospital, at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Sandra Vincent, and one brother, Robin Berg.

     Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Darcee Russell of Spencer, IA and Devyn (Jennifer) Smock of Ft. Worth, TX; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell, Marshall, Matthew, Mackenzie and Ethyn; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda King of Buckeye, AZ; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
