Shirley Ann Newcomb

Shirley Ann Newcomb, the daughter of Willard and Maxine Craig Hively, was born May 18, 1929 in Dickens, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. Following her schooling, she worked at National Foods and later Spencer Hospital for 12 � years. Shirley married Earl Henaman in 1947 and Earl passed away in 1963. She married Roy Newcomb, Jr. on November 13, 1971, in Las Vegas, NV. After their marriage, they remained in Spencer. She passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the age of 79. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earl C. Henaman; two brothers: Daniel and Robert Hively; three daughters: Barbara Jo Henaman, Kathryn Reynolds and Lori Meyer; daughter-in-law, Sandra Henaman; three grandchildren: Barbara Jo Reynolds, Marshall Reynolds and Brice Sorensen. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy of Spencer, IA; her children and their spouses: Jeffrey Henaman of Rossie, IA, Julie and Joe Holding of Spencer, IA, Jon Henaman of Hartley, IA, Lynne and Rick Hefner of Spencer, IA, Earl Henaman and Brenda of Spencer, IA, Melissa Newcomb of Tucson, AZ; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
