Shirley Kramer

December 18, 1941 — July 20, 2014

Shirley Joan Kramer, the daughter of Harlen and Darlene (Merchant) Steburg, was born December 18, 1941 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Fort Dodge, where she received her education. She spent one year in West Virginia with her aunt when she was a young girl. Her family moved to Peterson, IA where she was 13 years old and to Spencer, Iowa when she was 15 years old and she finished her education at Spencer High School. She married Larry Kramer on January 26, 1958 at the Congregational Church in Spencer, where she was a longtime member. Shirley worked as a waitress for many years mostly at the Grand Diner. She also did bean walking and babysitting over the years and enjoyed spending time with her babies and friends. Shirley passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry in December of 2011; two sisters: Winnifred Allen and Char Paffumi. Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Darrel Kramer and his wife, Lori and Dana Kramer and his wife, Nancy all of Spencer; her grandchildren: Kayla Lindsay and her husband, Jason, Katie and her husband, Mike Koenecke, Courtney Kramer and Dane Kramer all of Spencer; five great grandchildren: Dalton Kramer, Paige Kramer, Candace Lindsay, Jack Koenecke and Karson Koenecke; her siblings: Gloria (Orlie) Utley of Spencer, Mike (Sebella) Steburg of North Carolina, Harlan (Nancy) Steburg of Algona, IA; Dar Ford and Phyllis (Tim) Larson all of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
