Shirley Lavae Nath, the daughter of Charles and Ivah Bennett Allen, was born April 3, 1922 in Albert City, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Ruthven, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Ruthven High School.
Shirley married Elmer Nath in August of 1943. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm by Moneta. She worked as a cook in Moneta and later worked at a caf�. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
Shirley passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer in 1983; three sisters: Ilene Moodie, Darlys Utecht and June Allen; 2 brothers: Derald Allen and Harland Allen and a son-in-law, Steve Schick.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Larry and his wife, Gloria Nath of Estherville, IA, Roger and his wife, Renee Nath of Everly, IA, Linda Schick of Howell, MI and Keith and his wife, Mardee Nath of Mesa, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Loomis of Ayrshire, IA and Garnet Allen of Minneapolis, MN; one brother, Donald Allen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Warner Chapel in Everly.
