Shirley Mae Marble

Shirley Mae Marble, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Duhn) Masters, was born May 21, 1924, in Graettinger, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Graettinger where she received her education, graduating from Graettinger High School in 1942. Shirley married Charles Marble on August 5, 1945. After their marriage, they moved to Spencer, IA where they raised their family. Following Charles' death in 1979, she remained in Spencer until moving to Hartley, IA in 1993. Due to her failing health, she moved to Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA, in 2012, and lived there until the time of her death. Shirley was a past member of the Eagle's Club, loved to collect rooster's, crochet and pen pal letter writing. She had been affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Spencer. She passed away at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the age of 90. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles on October 4, 1979; grandson, Jeff; and two brothers: Arnold and Richard Masters. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara (Burryl) of Hartley, IA; son, Darrell (Barb) of Hartley, IA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Masters of Estherville, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
