Simon Jacob Paul

Simon Jacob Paul, the son of Benjamin and Ashley Paul, was born January 5, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born prematurely at 26 weeks and 6 days, he was transferred to the NICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital under the care of extraordinary doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and healthcare staff. He entered the Catholic Church by receiving the sacrament of baptism on January 7. Although Simon's time on earth was short, he taught many lessons to anyone who was graced by his presence or heard his story. He was a testament to persevering through suffering, making each day a gift, trusting in His plan, and loving unconditionally! Simon enjoyed exploring his NICU environment and loved being held by his parents. Simon passed away at St Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 12 weeks old where he was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. Simon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Paul. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Benjamin and Ashley; his grandparents, Mike and Lynn Kuethe and Steve and Helen Loerts; and his godparents Alison Fuegen and Aaron Loerts, in addition to many family and friends.
