Stanley Edward Meyerdirk, the son of Milo Ray and Linnie (Range) Meyerdirk, was born September 21, 1921 in Milford, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Lake Park, Iowa, where he received his education, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1940. Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy from January of 1945, until his honorable discharge on March 20, 1946.
Stan married Helen Lucille Freeman on October 15, 1942 and to this union was born three children: Margo, Terry and Jim. They lived in Minnesota, where he farmed for 12 years. After moving to Everly, IA, Stan hauled petroleum products for 21 years and later worked at Eaton Corporation for 11 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing in his spare time along with spending time with his family.
Following the death of his 1st wife, Helen, Stan married Lola Mayou-Long on January 27, 1979 in Spencer.
Stan passed away at the Villa Nursing and Rehab Center in Cherokee, Iowa on Monday, February 9, 2009 at the age of 87. His parents; his 1st wife, Helen on August 3, 1977; a brother, Roscoe Meyerdirk and a great granddaughter, Emilee Faust, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lola, also residing at Villa Nursing and Rehab Center in Cherokee; a daughter, Margo and her husband, Charles Carrier of Spencer; two sons and their wives: Terry and Audrey Meyerdirk of Cherokee, IA and Jim and Barb Meyerdirk of Ayrshire, IA; his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Quint (Ronita) Meyerdirk and their children, Justin & Sydney Meyerdirk of Coralville, IA, Sonja (Todd) Faust and their children: Alexandra, Isaiah, Amelia and Isabelle of Calumet, IA, Susan Harms and her fianc�, Scott Dodge and their children: Parker, Preston and Mason Harms and Jake Dodge of Milford, IA, Deb (Brad) Maurer and their children: Benjamin, Allison & Elizabeth Maurer of Sutherland, IA, Melissa (Rich) Hasty an their children: Charles, & Richard of Plattsmouth, NE, Christie (Brent) Cuttell and their children: Abby, Myles & Camden Cuttell of Cottage Grove, MN, Amy (Craig) Ingram and their children: Kora & Clayton of Clinton, NJ and Cody Meyerdirk of Keller, TX ; a sister, Berneice Mann of Spencer; 4 stepdaughters; several step grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Public Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Everly, Iowa.
