Steven Allen Kathman

Steven Allen Kathman, the son of Billy and Mary (Heisler) Kathman, was born on March 2, 1965, in Emmetsburg, IA. He was raised also received his education in Ayrshire, graduating from Ruthven-Ayrshire High School. Steven married Trudy Thomas on December 28, 1985, in Ayrshire. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Texas, for a short time, where Steven was involved in powerline construction. They then moved to Des Moines where he worked at the Des Moines Art Center. They eventually moved to Spencer and he was employed as a welder for Nolin Milling. Steven also painted water towers, build grain bins and worked at Perry Judds. Steven enjoyed fishing, camping and watching NASCAR. Steven passed away at his home on May 17, 2014, at the age of 49. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Trudy of Spirit Lake, IA; his two daughters: Amber Kathman of Arnolds Park, IA and Hali Kathman and her friend, Aaron of Spencer, IA; his son, Nicholas Kathman and his fiance' Mandy Freeman of Spencer, IA; his brother, Brian Kathman of Ayrshire, IA and his two children: Jordan and Austin; his sister, Theresa Kathman -Barnett and her husband, Kenny of Prior Lake, MN and their children: Sydney, Billy, Tyeson, Brooklyn and Jaydn; other relatives and many friends.
