Steven Lambert Nolting

Steven Lambert Nolting, the son of Lambert Fred and Jeanne Theda (Nattress) Nolting, was born August 17, 1946 in Fostoria, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Milford, Iowa area, where he received his education, graduating from Milford High School in 1965. He entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy from June 1966 until his honorable discharge in November of 1970. During his military career, he was stationed at Pearl Harbor and later at Norfolk, Virginia aboard the USS North Hampton. While in the service, he received his schooling in basic electricity and electronics in San Diego. Steve finished his electronics education at a school in San Francisco, CA. After his discharge he continued his education at N.W. Missouri State University. Steve returned to Spencer in 1972, where he began his career in electronics. He married Judi (Howe) Scott on November 3, 1979 at the Ninth St. Baptist Church in Spencer. He founded Nolting Electric, which he owned and operated from May of 1976 until the time of his death. He was an active member of Ninth St. Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, music director, Sunday school director and teacher. He was a coach for the Spencer Little League. Steve was an avid hunter, but he loved spending time with his family most of all. He passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the age of 70. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judi of Spencer; one son, Michael Scott of Spencer; two daughters: Dawn (Steve) Grimmius of Spencer and Carrie (Shane) Kakac of Eldridge, IA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; one brother, Greg Nolting of Ft. Dodge, IA; one sister, Connie Nolting and her friend, Gary Baumgarn of Fostoria, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post #1 - American Legion - Spencer, Iowa and V.F.W. Clay County Post #3159 of Spencer. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established by the family.
