Steven Wayne Daly

    Steven Wayne Daly (Shaggy), the son of Ed Daly and Barb Dickinson was born August 23, 1952, in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in the Okoboji, Iowa, area and raised by his grandparents.  Steve graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1970.  He began working at Terrace Park Dairy where he met his wife, Sharon Suber and married June 22, 1974.  They moved to Spencer, Iowa, in 1976, where they raised two children. 

    Steve worked at Terrace Park Dairy, Blue Bunny, Witt Sales, Midland Transportation, Dohrn Trucking, Spencer City Sanitation, and Norgaard Sand and Gravel. Steve was active in golf, fishing and singing.  Steve spent many hours singing at the lakes area, and enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Dyno’s gas station.  Steve taught his children the love of golf at Woodlyn Hill’s golf course.  He loved his four grandchildren and many pets.

    Steve passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 67.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Daly; stepmother, Marilyn; grandparents, Jay and Goldie Daly, and Leslie and Leona Booton. 

    Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Daly; daughter, Jessie (Daly) Hauschen; son, Joshua Daly; mother, Barb Dickinson; brothers: Ric Daly, Jon Dickinson, Dave (Rocky) Dickinson, Pat Daly, Mike Daly; sisters:  Vicki Winchell, Dana Messerole, Cheryl Joynt; four grandchildren: Jacob, Jason, Peyton and Haley Hauschen; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Special thanks to the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association.  Steve spent many days and nights performing and listening to his favorite music.  He met many special people there, as well as Table 316, Chaplin’s and many areas he traveled to.
