Stuart Kruse

Spirit Lake

  Stuart Frank Kruse, the son of Frank and Marilyn (Hughes) Kruse, was born October 24, 1962 in Spencer, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in Royal, where he received his education from Clay Central Community Schools.

    After his schooling he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  Following his discharge, he moved back to Royal he worked at IBP in Storm Lake.  He later moved to Sioux City and worked at John Morrell for a few years.  Stuart moved back to Royal and worked for Prentice Backhoe and later at Hardees in Sheldon, Iowa.  He moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa, where he worked for Pure Fishing for the last 15 years, until his health declined, forcing him to retire.

     Stuart loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor.  He also enjoyed cruising in his new Camero and chasing down “Curb Gold” on cleanup days and going to garage sales.

     He passed away at the Hawkeye Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 54.  Stuart was preceded in death by his parents.

     Stuart is survived by two sisters: Kathleen and her husband, Dan Swanson of South St. Paul, MN and Sue and her husband, Roy Higgins of Oakley, CA; two brothers: Ned of Sutherland, IA and Ben of Spencer; special friends Sharon and Ken Roth of Milford, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, many friends and his dog, “Chipper”. 

SERVICES
A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa
