It is with great sadness that the family of Suzanne Kathryn Rothmeyer would like to state that her heart wore out from all the love she has given throughout her life on April 15, 2019.
Suzanne graced the world on August 3, 1947. Suzanne was the 5th of 7 children of Dorothy (Seidl) and Clarence Rothmeyer. Suzanne grew up in Dedham, IA and attended St Joseph School in Dedham and Kuemper High School in Carroll, IA.
Suzanne married Edward Weber on December 30, 1963 in Dedham, IA. Suzanne and Ed were blessed with two children, Michael (Mike) and Cynthia (Cindi). They lived in Carroll and Storm Lake.
Suzanne worked and lived in Spencer for many years. She loved working sales and helping people. Suzanne managed the Diet Center in the 1980’s. She was a facilitator at the “Drop in Center,” which was a mental health center program to support clients. She managed the “Second Option” clothing store, which was a mental health center program to teach clients job skills. From the late 1990’s until her retirement in 2012, Suzanne worked with the mentally challenged at Hope Haven and the Sunshine Center. Suzanne was very active as a Special Olympics volunteer and with the Americans with Disabilities Task Force. Suzanne also earned a Cosmetology degree through Iowa Lakes Community College.
Suzanne loved nurturing her flowers and watching the many birds who visited her home while sitting on the front porch. She would wake up with a song in her heart and on her lips. Suzanne was a “light” to others and brightened everybody’s day. She enjoyed entertaining others by dressing up and decorating for various holidays. The family never knew what to expect at the holidays but knew it would always be fun. Suzanne and her partner, Steve McCormick, enjoyed searching for and selling antiques and collectables. Her greatest joys were her family. Suzanne was always there with great advice and an abundance of love.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia (Weber) Loring, her parents Clarence and Dorothy Rothmeyer, her sister Carleen, her brother Jim Rothmeyer, and her fraternal and maternal grandparents.
Suzanne is survived by her son Mike (Melissa) Weber of Spencer and her dearest friend and partner Steve McCormick of Spencer. Siblings include Carol (Dan) Balk of Carroll, Judy Nagl of Overland Park, KS, Clarence Jr. (Elaine) Rothmeyer of Mt. Carmel, and Mary (Ron) Hupp of Carroll.
