Suzanne Zahrt Edington

April 23, 1940 — October 27, 2013

Suzanne Zahrt Edington, the daughter of Fred and Rachel Roberts Zahrt was born April 23, 1940 in Spencer, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Rossie, IA area, where she graduated from Greenville-Rossie High School. After graduating she studied lab-tech at Northwestern Institute of Technology in Minneapolis, MN. She started work at Spencer Hospital and then at St. Josephs Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Suzanne married Frank Edington Jr. on June 20, 1965 at First Congregational Church in Spencer, IA. She helped run Edington's Home Fashion Gallery in downtown Spencer, before staying home to raise the kids. Suzanne was a member of the Rossie Church and First Congregational Church in Spencer. She was a mother to all the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed gardening, picnics, spending time at their cabin at the lakes, and especially spending time with family. Suzanne passed away at Spencer Hospital on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Gary, Fred Jr., Roger, and an infant brother, David Zahrt. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Tonya (Mark) Cornwell of Dickens, IA; her son, Jay (Angie) Edington of Spencer, IA; five grandchildren, Cole, Brock, and Alec Edington and Kayla and Jenna Cornwell; two sisters: Beverly Jeppson of Spencer, IA and Sandra (Jim) Dotson of Wahpeton, IA; one brother, Darwin "Scooter" Zahrt of Spencer, IA; two sisters-in-law: Kay Zahrt of West Covina, CA and Beverly Zahrt of Garden City, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 10:30A.M., Friday, November 1, 2013 at the First Congregational Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 12noon on Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
