Ted Mccord

July 15, 1934 — September 29, 2011

Theodore "Ted" Charles McCord, the son of Russel and Helen Wair McCord, was born July 15, 1934, in Harlan, Iowa. Ted attended the Treynor High School and graduated from there. Ted married Anna Rose Schoon on August 21, 1954 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Ted owned and operated the DX Station, then opened Ted McCord Auto Service and in 1997, Ted went into partnership with his son Mike and they named the business McCord Auto Service. Ted worked as a mechanic for 58 years. He was a member of the Spencer Moose Lodge. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed NASCAR, cooking and most of all spending time with his family. Ted passed away on September 30, 2011 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna on September 23, 1996; infant brother, Robert; brother Dave and one sister, Marilyn. He is survived by his children: Dick (Deanna) McCord of Spencer, Judy McCord of Spencer, Steve McCord of Des Moines, IA, Mike (Dannie) McCord of Dickens and Sandi (Chris) Raveling of Peterson, IA; 9 grandchildren: Alex (Abby) Raveling, Elizabeth (Jordan) Schulte, Scott, Shelby and Sean McCord and Devan, Paige, Brittany and Marshall McCord; 2 brothers: John McCord of Wichita, KS and Jim McCord of Spencer, IA; other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Hospice of Spencer Hospital for the wonderful care given to Ted.

SERVICES

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Spencer Moose Lodge will conduct a service at the Graveside.
