Terry Dean Dandy, the son of Morris and Maureen (Gruell) Dandy, was born December 23, 1944, in Spencer, IA, where he received his education, and was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Terry entered the Navy on December 19, 1962, where he served on the USS Bon Homme Richard until his honorable discharge on April 22, 1966. Terry's terminal date of reserve obligation was on December 18, 1968. Terry worked several jobs after his discharge. Terry managed the Village Inn, worked at Spencer Foods, Alibi, Bonnie & Clyde's, H & S Roofing, Helen's Laundry and the Ford Garage Dealership. Terry owned TKJ Transport and Dandy Excavation. Terry received his insurance license in 1968 and worked for Morrie Preston.
Terry married Betty Bishop on January 15, 1968, in Spencer, IA. To this union was born two sons, Tron and Jason. After consultation with Pastor Rev. Ron Meyer of First English Lutheran Church, Terry completed his education at Iowa Lakes Community College and Des Moines Area Community College in Long Term Care. During his education, Terry worked as an orderly at St. Luke Lutheran Home. Upon graduation and passing his LNHA boards, Terry became administrator at Hillside Manor in Glenwood, IA. Terry was the CEO/Adm. at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, IA, for four years, CEO/Adm. at Bartles Lutheran Home in Waverly, IA, for two years until moving to Spencer, IA, where he was CEO/Adm. for St. Luke Homes and Services for 23 years until his retirement.
Terry passed away at his home in Spencer on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the age of 70. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Amis.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty; two sons: Tron (Courtney) and Jason (Kerri); two grandchildren: Briana and Kaleb Dandy; two step-grandchildren: Jonah and Jeb Sonderman; one brother: Dan Dandy of Las Vegas, NV; two half-brothers: Don Dandy (Mary Ann) of Waverly, IA, and Mike Anderson of Spencer, IA; one half-sister, Donna Jean Lenox of Marshalltown, IA; one brother-in-law, Tom Amis of Spencer, IA (Rick, Mick and Terry Beck); many nieces and nephews; two step-sisters: Sharon Jo and Vicki; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Monday, December 14, 2015 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
A military flag presentation with taps will be held following the services at the church.

VISITATION
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M., Sunday at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Visitation will continue Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
