Thelma Mary Johannsen, the daughter of Theodore and Katherine Andre Kenne was born November 21, 1915 in Whittemore, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Whittemore area, where she graduated from Presentation Academy in Whittemore.
Thelma married B.E. "Friday" Johannsen on May 1, 1941 in Fairmont, MN. They later moved to Spencer, IA where she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Mission Group, Sacred Heart Rosary Makers and Catholic Daughters.
Thelma enjoyed cooking, canning, flower gardening, her favorite was the Pink Peonies, and traveling, especially to Rome. She also enjoyed daily journaling of weather conditions, making felt Christmas stockings and spending time with family.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her 12 siblings; Dorothy Brown, Marie Hanley, Maybelle Geilenfeld, Peter, Casper, Clifton, Lawrence, Leona, Rosella, Raymond, and Joe Kenne; and one son, Robert Johannsen.
Left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, Gerald (Monica) Johannsen of Spencer, IA, Kenny (Vicki) Johannsen of Spencer, IA, and Gaylen Johannsen of Burnsville, MN; 8 grandchildren, Susan Dameron, Sarah Ashlock, Sheila Devine, Ryan, Jeremy, Eric, Jonathon, and Toshia Johannsen; 13 great-grandchildren, LaKeisha, Isaac, Joetta, Kayla, Peyton, Tateum, Broedy, Dakota, Skylar, Justin, Ava, Isaiah, and Jocelyn; 3 sisters-in-law, Ione Kenne of Whittemore, IA, Laverin Kenne of San Francisco, CA, and Dorothy Johannsen of Sutherland, IA; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

A Rosary Service by The Catholic Daughters will start at 6:00 P.M., with a Vigil Service to follow, Tuesday, November 13, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
