Theodore “Ted” Woodall, the son of Phillip and Lena (Toft) Woodall, was born September 9, 1927, on the family farm southwest of Royal, Iowa. He was raised in the Royal area where he attended country school and later graduated from Royal High School.
After his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Army from March of 1946 until his honorable discharge in September of 1947. Following his discharge, he began farming with his brother, “Woody” on a farm near Royal. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal. Farming was very important in his life along with having coffee with his friends at Andy’s and later The Café. Ted enjoyed his family including his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Ted was a very kind man who was always willing to help people.
Ted passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: William, Burdette and Chris; one sister, Norma Sanders; and one sister-in-law, Wanda Woodall.
Left to cherish his memory are one sister, Phyllis Rukes of Spencer, IA; one brother-in-law, John Sanders of Dallas, TX; one sister-in-law, Ruth McRell of Salina, KS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
