Thomas Joseph Zittritsch, the son of Eugene and Mildred (Penton) Zittritsch was born March 1, 1941, in Algona, IA. His childhood years were spent in Algona where he received his education, graduating from Algona High School in 1958.
On June 24, 1958, Thomas married Beverly Ringsdorf in Rock Rapids, IA. Following their marriage, they lived in Texas approximately 7 years before moving to Spencer, Iowa in 1971. Thomas worked for International Harvester as Parts Manager for 30 years, retiring in 2002. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing, and most of all spending time with his family.
Thomas passed away on November 29, 2013, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly on November 1, 2007 and one brother, Dave Zittritsch of Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: 2sons: Jim and Joyce Zittritsch of Norfolk, NE, and Steve Zittritsch of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Lori Damman of Spencer, IA; 6 grandchildren: Megan (Zittritsch) Johnson and Mandy Zittritsch, Samantha Sullivan, Michael and Nicholas Zittritsch and Darrian Adkins; one great-grandchild, Kellan Johnson; 2 brothers and their wives: Ronald and Bonnie Zittritsch of Morton, IL, and Tim and Marcie Zittritsch of Spencer, IA; 2 sisters: Muriel and Wendell Rockwell of Waunakee, WI, and Peggy and Kirk Swigart of Elkader, IA; and one sister-in-law, Shirlene King Zittritsch of Santa Fe Springs, CA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
