Thomas Lloyd Pearson, the son of Richard Nells and Louisa (Olson) Pearson, was born October 21, 1928 in Fostoria, IA. His childhood years were spent in Milford, IA, where he received his education, graduating from Milford High School. After his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953.
Tom married Annette Schwidder on March 19, 1960 in New Ulm, MN. After their marriage, they made their home in Sioux Falls, SD, until March of 1966, when they moved to Spencer, IA. He worked for Midstates Builders for 26 years, until his retirement. Tom was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed watching the Hawkeyes and woodworking in his free time.
Tom passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, IA on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annette in 2008; one infant daughter Juli Lynn Pearson; 4 brothers: LeRoy, Richard, Paul and Charles Pearson; 3 sisters, Leona Kabrick, Thelma Marsh, and Laura Sarver; and one grandson, Danny Pearson.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Mark Thomas (Laurie) Pearson of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Lauriann (Mark) Heilman of Spencer, IA; 3 grandchildren, Gabrielle Olene Ann Pearson, Sara Elizabeth Marie Pearson Marisa Kay Kilpatrick and Mathew Pearson Heilman; 2 sisters, Phyllis Bergman of Statford, IA, and Anita Carpenter of Galeburg, MI; one brother, Gary (Sharon) Pearson of Boise, ID; other relatives and many friends.
