Timothy Roger Mills

Timothy Roger Mills, the son of Roger and Margaret (Fisk) Mills, was born on January 23, 1947 in Spencer, IA. His childhood years were spent on a farm east of Greenville. He attended school at Clay Central in Royal. Following graduation, he entered into the U.S Navy. He served from January 30, 1964 until his honorable discharge on December 18, 1967. While he was in the military he served on the USS Vancouver and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After the military he returned to the Greenville area where he worked at the Municipal Power Plant east of Spencer and then Halsne International as a mechanic. He was forced to retire in 1979, due to an unfortunate accident. He also worked at the Rossie Elevator in the fall during harvest time. Tim liked to be with his friends, he enjoyed hot rod tractor racing, motorcycles and cars. He also had a couple of boats and liked to fish. Timothy passed away on November 29, 2007, at his home at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish are his brother, Larry Mills of Inyokern, CA; two aunts; several cousins; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. There will be a Military Service conducted by the American Legion - Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer.
