Vinh Lovan

Spencer

     Vinh Lovan, the son of Lone Lovan and Lothi Yen was born May 2, 1942 in Son La, Vietnam. His childhood years were spent in Son La, where he helped his family farm the fields.

     Vinh married Beng Hoang on August 28, 1966 in Vientiane, Laos, and they moved to Spencer, IA in January of 1980. He started work at Hy-Vee and was very proud of his work, winning a service award and getting to meet the CEO.

     Vinh enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked to meet new people and was known to be friendly and outgoing. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.

     Vinh passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home in Brooklyn Park, MN, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beng, one son, Pane, and several brothers and sisters.

     Left to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters, May (Ty) Lo of Spencer, IA and Monica (Jesse Baccam) Lovan of Minneapolis, MN; 3 grandchildren Jinisa and Nya Lo and Penelope Baccam; one brother, Lo Lovan of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Lothi E of Thailand; many other relatives; and friends.

     Masks are recommended per the family.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 2:30 P.M., Saturday, March 20, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
