Viola Minnie "Vi" Larson, the daughter of August and Matilda (Schultz) Holterf, was born March 15, 1927 in Pomeroy, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Pomeroy, where she received her education.
"Vi" married Lowell Larson on January 4, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Carroll, Iowa, for a year before moving to Spencer, where they lived throughout their married life. She worked as an aide for three years at Spencer Hospital and later worked at Hyline Hatchery and as an assistant cook at Spencer Schools, until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
Viola passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell on March 30, 1993; two sisters: Nettie in infancy and Freida Peters and five brothers: Eric, Casey, Charlie, Julius and Louis Holterf and one sister, Clare Pierce.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Wayne Larson and his wife, Jane of Storm Lake; one daughter, Brenda Lindeman and her husband, Lyle of South St. Paul, Minnesota; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
