Virgil 'Butch' Severeid

Virgil "Butch" Severeid, the son of Arnold and Etta (Sowden) Severeid, was born February 11, 1941, in Tyler, MN. He was raised on a farm by Lake Wilson, MN, and later moved into Lake Wilson where he received his education. Butch married Darlene Meyer on May 26, 1973, in Sioux Falls, SD. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, IA, where he worked for Don Pierson Ford for 37 years until his retirement in 2009. He loved watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Virgil passed away unexpectedly at his home in Spencer on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and brother, Leroy. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene of Spencer; his children: Scott and wife, Linda Severeid of Spencer, Christine and husband, Lance Muckey of Henderson, NV, and Becky Severeid of Spencer; 5 grandchildren; his siblings: Gene (Sharon) Severeid of Lake Wilson, MN, Carol DeZeeuw of Lake Wilson, MN, Betty Kepler of Windom, MN, Keith (Betty) Severeid of Pipestone, MN, Lowell (Linda) Severeid of New Mexico, Bonita (Dennis) Grogan of Abilene, TX, Claudia (Mark) Barry of Rapid City, SD, Mark (Toni) Severeid of Denver, CO and Rhonda (Ron) Vos of Lake Wilson, MN; other relative and many friends.
