Virginia Ann Freeburg, the daughter of Otto and Elsie Jaeger Moeller, was born June 11, 1924 on a farm in Royal, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Royal where she received her early education and graduated from the Royal High School.
Virginia married John Raymond 'Ray' Freeburg on June 25, 1944 in Royal. Following their marriage, they lived in the communities of Waverly, Humboldt and Spencer since 1969. Virginia was an active member of the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer where she enjoyed singing in the Church choir and serving on the Esther Guild. She was also a member of Hopewell Club and enjoyed working with 4-H. Virginia enjoyed music, playing the accordion, sewing and especially traveling with her husband, Ray and wintering in Mesa, AZ and summers at Lake Okoboji in their family cottage. Virginia's greatest pleasure was being able to spend time with her family.
Virginia passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Ray and her sister, Betty Myhre.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters and their husbands: Julie and David Gibson of Sioux Falls, SD, Janet and Rick Briggs of Grundy Center, IA and Jolene and Keith Abens of Webster City, IA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren: Ryan Briggs and his wife, Debbie and their two sons, Rowan and Sawyer and daughter, Waverly of Glen Ellyn, IL, Bill Gibson and his wife, Amy and their son Greyson of Dillon, CO, Tony Briggs and his wife, Kristin and their three sons, Carter, Caleb and Jack of Pella, IA, Dr. Scott Gibson and his wife, Dr. Melissa Gibson and their daughter, Evelyn of Sioux Falls, SD, Tyler Abens and his wife, Sara and their son Jayce of Webster City, IA and Tracy Evans and her husband, Lance and their son, Wesley and daughter, Hampton of Okoboji, IA; her sister-in-law, Adeline and her husband, Norman Bensene of Spencer, IA; a foster brother, Milton Meyerdirk and his wife, Leta of Gilmer, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
