Virginia L. Goff

M. Virginia L. Goff, the daughter of William Washington and Minnie Davis (Brantley) Lonberger, was born February 14, 1928, in Courtland VA. She received her education at Smithfield High School in Smithfield, VA. On January 1, 1949, she married John Peyton Davis, III, in Richmond, VA. To this union one child, Chris Ashley Davis (now Mrs. Fred Bredehoeft of Syracuse, NE) was born. Virginia was employed by Sperry-Rand Corp. as a clerk-typist and worked her way through the ranks of Administrative Assistant, Executive Secretary to the branch manager in Richmond, VA. In 1960, she received the promotion of Branch Office Manager in Albuquerque, NM. While residing in Albuquerque, she met and on August 25, 1962, married CWO� Berl V. Goff. After Berl retired from the Air Force, they moved to Ruthven where they presently reside. On December 30, 2005, Virginia passed away at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Washington and Minnie Davis (Brantley) Lonberger, and three brothers. Virginia is survived by Berl, her husband of 43 years; two daughters: Chris (Fred) Bredehoeft, of Syracuse, NE, and Linda (Ken) Hendrickson of Titusville, FL; three sons: Berl Goff, Jr. of Elk River, MN, Chuck (Janet) Goff of Amarillo, TX, and John (Lori) Goff of Lincoln, NE; one sister, Elizabeth Daniero, of Richmond, VA; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
