Wanda Bell Mills

Wanda Bell Birchard Mills, the daughter of Ben and Alice Baxter Birchard, was born August 20, 1927 in Gillett Grove, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Gillett Grove, where she received her early education. Wanda married Donald Laverne Mills on April 21, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer where she stayed at home and raised her family. She was a member of the Eagle's Club and the Auxiliary. She passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald on March 27, 1989; one daughter, Linda Berry; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by five sons: Don Jr. and his wife, Barb of Okoboji, IA, Ron Mills of Spencer, Tom and his wife, Joan Mills of Spencer, Richard and his wife, Wanda Mills of Spencer and Larry Mills of Spencer; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; two brothers: Earl Birchard and his wife, Wanda of Spencer and Roger Birchard and his wife, Karen of Paullina; three sisters: Blanche Foxhoven of Estherville, Shirley Stone and her husband, Bob of Texas and Alice Birchard of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
