Wanda Lou Johnson, the daughter of Morris and Cayce Ione (Nelson) Glasgow, was born on January 23, 1941 in Memphis, TN. Her childhood years were spent in Memphis, where she received her education and graduated from Harding Academy.
On July 21, 1960 Wanda married Don Johnson in Las Vegas, NV. Following their marriage, the couple lived in California, where she was a stay-at-home mother. Wanda enjoyed being with her children and encouraging their extra-curricular activities. Wanda enjoyed arts and crafts including drawing and tole painting. She loved playing cards and scrabble with friends and family as well as those around the world on the Internet. Wanda enjoyed meeting people and entertaining. She enjoyed travels to Alaska, Thailand, Jamaica, Mexico and Germany. Wanda was a member of the Church of Christ; she had a strong faith and liked to share it with other people.
Wanda passed away on July 18, 2008 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, at the age of 67. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Derek.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don of Sutherland, IA; two daughters: Donna Smith and her husband, Warren and Dee Christenson both of Fort Collins, CO; her son, Daren Johnson of Portland, OR; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Glasgow and his wife, Betty of Clovis, CA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008, at the Church of Christ in Sutherland.
