Wayne Lowell Rogne, the son of Ole and Marie (Larson) Rogne, was born December 15, 1917 in Linn Grove, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Linn Grove, where he received his education at country schools. After his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during W.W II, until his honorable discharge. After his service to his country, he returned to Minneapolis, MN, where he worked for a body shop.
Wayne married Hennie Marie Olson on January 19, 1946 in Ruthven, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to Linn Grove, where they farmed for 27 years, until retiring and moving to Spencer in 1974. From 1979 to 1998, they lived in the communities of Milford and Hartley, Iowa and spent their winters in Arizona and Texas. In May of 2007, he moved back to Spencer, where he resided at Longhouse Residence until the time of his death. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Linn Grove. Wayne thoroughly enjoyed doing carpentry on old houses during his retirement and was an avid history buff.
Wayne passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hennie Marie in 2006; his stepmother and sister.
Left to cherish his memory are his four sons: Richard and his wife, Marcia Rogne of Loveland, CO, Lowell and Debra Rogne of Spirit Lake, IA, Dennis Olson of Spencer, IA and Steven and Ronda Rogne of Hartley, IA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove, Ia.
